C E Testing My Handmade Toys

cemarking logoIt is a legal requirement that all toys sold within the EU pass certain criteria as set out in a directive called EN71, and bear the CE mark. For a small, handmade toy business like mine, this can seem like a daunting, if not impossible task. Around 6 months ago, a number of toy makers got together on Facebook to see if collectively we could find a way of certifying our toys for sale.

With the help of CE Marking and product safety specialists, Conformance and through working together, many of us have achieved this aim.  All of my toys have been thoroughly tested to meet the standards set out in BS EN71 and bear the CE Mark, and are suitable from birth.

If you are a toy maker and would like to find out more about CE Marking, why not visit the CE self certification support page.
